Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the EvelopCars website and the vehicle history reports we supply. By using the site or buying a report you accept them. Please read them before purchasing.

1. The service

EvelopCars supplies vehicle data reports compiled from third-party sources including the DVLA, DVSA, Experian, MIAFTR, the Police National Computer and SMMT, accessed through a licensed data aggregator. We are an independent service and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any of these organisations.

2. Accuracy of information

We present the data supplied to us by our sources at the time of your search. We do not create, verify or amend that data. While our suppliers take reasonable care, we cannot guarantee that every record is complete, current or free from error. A report describes what is recorded on the relevant registers — it is not a statement about the vehicle's mechanical condition, roadworthiness or value.

3. Intended use

Reports are supplied for your own use in relation to a specific vehicle transaction. You may not resell, republish, systematically extract or commercially redistribute the data, or use automated means to query the service. Reports are supplied for guidance only and are not a substitute for a physical inspection, a mechanical examination or independent legal advice.

4. Registration accuracy

You are responsible for entering the correct registration mark. The free preview confirms the make, model, colour and year before payment specifically so you can verify you are checking the right vehicle. We cannot refund a report bought against a mistyped registration once the data has been retrieved.

5. Payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Payment is taken as a single transaction through our payment processor; we do not operate subscriptions and we never store your card details. Your report is generated immediately after payment clears.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Because reports are digital content delivered immediately, you agree that supply begins as soon as payment is taken and you therefore waive the statutory fourteen-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. This does not affect your legal rights where the service is faulty. If a report fails to generate, or returns materially no data because of a supplier failure, contact us and we will regenerate it or refund you in full.

7. Liability

Our total liability arising from any report is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any loss arising from a decision to buy or not to buy a vehicle. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, particularly where a third-party data source is unavailable. Where a specific data source cannot be reached, the report states this openly rather than presenting a gap as a clear result.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment of your purchase applies to that purchase.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

11. Who you are contracting with

EvelopCars operates the website at evelopcars.uk and supplies the reports described above. Written enquiries, complaints and formal notices should be sent to [email protected] and will be answered within one working day.
